Guidelines to become a Member of the Council, IGEO
A person who would like to become a member of the IGEO Council will be involved in geoscience education at some level in his / her country, will have a good network of geoscience teachers/ geoscientists and geoscience institutions/ organizations in his/ her country and will have the support of local institutions.
Further, in order to represent a country on the IGEO Council, the person should submit the following two documents by email executive-committee@igeoscied.org for the attention of IGEO Chair:
- A personal letter of intent including the following topics:
- why s/he wants to represent her/his country on the IGEO Council;
- a brief description of the status and profile of Earth Science Education in her/his country;
- a realistic strategy for improving the status and profile of Earth Science Education in her/his country, including how others might be involved;
- how s/he intends to contribute to this strategy.
- A letter of support from the geological society, geological survey, or other institution of the country, indicating that the geological community supports this person and is interested in contributing to IGEO’s aims.
